Saturday, November 14, 2009 Living History Presentation at
"Inaugural Veterans Day Service", Mount Zion African American Church. Members of the 3rd US Colored Infantry, fire a rifle salute, to honor the many Civil War and other Veterans buried in the Mount Zion A.M.E. Church cemetery, in Devon PA. Saturday, November 14, 2009, Members of the 3rd U.S.C.I. Civil War Re-enactors performed a Living History Presentation at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church. The day honored the many war veterans from Devon, PA who saw service in the US Armed Forces during Americas Wars. Following the presentation, a graveside ceremony was performed at the adjoining cemetery. Rev. April M. Martin, Pastor of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church said a special prayer and the Re-enactors fired a rifle salute. The Bugler 2nd/Sgt. Tom Davis (Bugler) played taps. The attendees then returned to the church for a luncheon and the 3rd U.S.C.I. members answered questions from the guest.
Wednesday, November 11, 2009 "Veterans Day" The 3rd US Colored Infantry, U.S.C.T., Re-enactors, took part along with members of several veterans groups and the public, in a ceremony honoring America's Veterans at the Philadelphia African American All Wars Memorial.
THE 3RD US COLORED INFANTRY REGIMENT IS
SCHEDULED TO PERFORM
LIVING HISTORY PRESENTATIONS IN SUPPORT OF THE NEW YORK HISTORICAL
SOCIETY'S NEW "LINCOLN AND NEW YORK SERIES".
Members of the 3rd Regiment Infantry, United States Colored Troops, Civil War Re-enactors will visit the New York Historical Society Museum in New York City during the fall of this year and in February of 2010. The 3rd Regiment will display a collection of Civil War artifacts, reproduction uniforms and military equipment. Also displayed will be, several personnel items that Civil War soldiers would have carried in their haversacks and back packs. The reenactors will perform informal interactive presentations of camp life and the African American experience as a Civil War soldier. Many of the 3rd's reenactors are direct descendants of Us Colored Troop Civil War Veterans and will pass on personal experiences of their ancestors to the museum's visitors. The 3rd US Colored Infantry Re-enactors will perform informal "Living History" presentations, on the following dates:
